Section 1 in West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1972

1. Short title, extent and commencement.

- This Act may be called the West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1972.

(2)It extends to the whole of West Bengal.

(3)It shall come into [force] [[(a) Came into force on 26th November, 1998 in the areas under Police Stations Ghatal,Daspur and Chandrokona, in the Sub-Division Ghatal, District Midnapore, vide Agriculture Deptt, notification No. 6532-M.W&C/1M-7/93, dated the 26th November, 1998.

(b)Came into force on 26th April, 2000 in the areas under Police Stations Kalimpong, Gurubathan and Jaldhaka, in the Sub-Division Kalimpong, District Darjeeling, vide Agriculture Deptt. notification No. 2669-M.W&C/1M-8/94, dated the 26th April, 2000.]] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different areas.
