Section 28 in West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1972

28. Acquisition of land by market Committee.

- [(1)] [Original section renumbered as sub-section (1) thereof by ibid, section 22.] Where any land is needed for the purposes of a market committee the State Government may proceed to acquire the same under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894) [, the West Bengal Land (Requisition and Acquisition) Act, 1948 (West Bengal Act No. 2 of 1948)] [Inserted by the West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 1997, section 12.], or any other law for the time being in force. [(2) Any land so acquired shall be transferred to the market committee on such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon between the State Government and the market committee.] [Added by the West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 1978, section 22.]
