Peace as a State of Mind
Peace is not something that can be imposed or purchased; it is a state of mind that arises from within. True peace does not depend upon wealth, comfort, or external circumstances. A poor family may live in peace while a rich one may struggle with restlessness and discord.
When the heart burns with anxiety, resentment, or fear, any calmness achieved through force or compromise is merely a temporary arrangement—an illusion of peace, not its essence. Genuine peace cannot be cultivated through coercion. Attempts to enforce tranquility through power or dominance often create deeper distances between individuals, sowing seeds of future conflict.
The subdued spirit of the one who loses today may wait silently, only to rebound later with unexpected intensity. Hence, lasting peace is not born out of subjugation but from mutual understanding and goodwill.
To truly bring peace into our lives and surroundings, we must strive to win hearts through compassion, sincerity, and righteous action—not through might or manipulation. Peace endures where love and fairness dwell.
Joy MAA.
