🌸 Chhathi Maiya (Usha, the Goddess of Dawn)
Chhathi Maiya, also known as Usha, is the Goddess of dawn and the divine consort of Surya Dev (the Sun God). In Hindu belief, she represents the first light of day, symbolizing hope, purity, and renewal. During Chhath Puja, devotees worship both Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya, expressing gratitude for the life-giving energy of the sun and seeking blessings for health, prosperity, and family well-being.
Chhathi Maiya is believed to protect children, ensure longevity, and remove obstacles from life. She is also seen as a nurturing mother who listens to the prayers of her devotees. Her worship during Chhath Puja signifies the importance of balance between light and life, as she ushers in the dawn after darkness, representing new beginnings and spiritual awakening.
In essence, Chhathi Maiya embodies motherly care, purity, and the eternal rhythm of nature, making her an integral part of Chhath Puja and Hindu faith.
