Lord Hanuman: The Eternal Symbol of Strength, Devotion and Service

Lord Hanuman occupies a unique and sacred place in Bharatiya civilisation. He is worshipped not merely for his extraordinary physical strength but for his unwavering devotion, profound wisdom, humility, courage and selfless service. He teaches us that true power does not arise from pride; it becomes meaningful only when guided by righteousness and dedicated to a noble purpose.

Hanuman’s devotion to Lord Rama is the highest example of loyalty and surrender. He never sought position, recognition or reward. Whether crossing the ocean in search of Mother Sita, confronting the forces of Lanka, carrying the Sanjeevani-bearing mountain or serving Lord Rama after victory, Hanuman performed every duty with complete dedication. For him, service itself was the greatest honour.

Although blessed with immense power, Hanuman remained humble. His life demonstrates that strength without humility may become destructive, while strength governed by wisdom becomes a protective force. He was an exceptional scholar, an eloquent messenger, a fearless warrior and a wise diplomat. He knew when to act gently, when to speak firmly and when courage demanded decisive action.

Hanuman also represents mastery over the mind and senses. His disciplined life reminds us that the greatest battle is often fought within ourselves—against fear, doubt, anger, ego and despair. Remembering Hanuman inspires confidence during adversity and teaches us to remain calm, faithful and determined.

Lord Hanuman is therefore much more than a heroic figure of the Ramayana. He is the eternal embodiment of bhakti, shakti, yukti and seva—devotion, strength, wisdom and service. His life gives humanity a timeless message: remain humble in achievement, fearless in difficulty, faithful to truth and always ready to serve a righteous cause.

Where there is devotion like Hanuman’s, fear cannot survive. Where there is courage like Hanuman’s, no obstacle is insurmountable.
